Hacktivist Holiday Celebrated with More Data Exposures

The Hacktivist group Anonymous, which has been linked to various attacks and exposures against financial companies, law enforcement agencies and other entities, exposed the personal information of several people as part of its celebration two holidays this past weekend.

The first is Guy Fawkes Day; Anonymous typically uses a Guy Fawkes mask as both a logo and a uniform. The other is Caturday, which is more of an Internet holiday celebrating funny pictures of cats, Wired.com's Threat Level blog reported Saturday.

In observance of these holidays, CabinCr3w, the Anonymous faction responsible for publishing the personal information of big-bank CEOs Vikram Pandit and Brian Moynihan last month, released the personal information of other influential people, including New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the article said.

Most of the personal details released this weekend were already available through public databases, the article says.
