Allpoint, the nation's largest surcharge free ATM network with 35,000 machines,
will expand to the United Kingdom in November with 2,500 surcharge-free ATMs,
Ben Psillas, the company's president, tells ATM&Debit News.
Bethesda, Md.-based Allpoint, which is owned by Cardtronics Inc., the world's
largest ISO based on ATMs owned and managed, says it will use the ATMs of sister
company Bank Machine Ltd., which is based in Hatfield Hertfordshire, England.
The agreement means Allpoint will have 37,500 surcharge-free ATMs worldwide,
Psillas says.
Allpoint announced an expansion to the UK a year ago but dropped the plan until it
resolved some operations problems, Psillas says. Allpoint now is studying whether to
expand to Mexico, where another sister company, Cardtronics Mexico, operates a
network of 1,581 ATMs.
