Barclays has named Curt Hess chief executive of its payments business in the U.S., promoting him from interim CEO.
Hess had been interim leader of Barclaycard US, in Wilmington, Del., since May, when he replaced Amer Sajed, who had been promoted to interim CEO of Barclaycard in London. Sajed was named to that post to replace the departed
In his new role, Hess will continue to report to Sajed.
Hess previously was Barclays' chief financial officer for personal and corporate banking in London. He joined Barclays in 2007.
