Moneris Solutions Corp. was chosen to handle all payment processing for the Government of Canada, the company announced March 19.
As part of the agreement, Moneris will provide all point of sale devices and manage card transactions for Canada's 38 federal departments and agencies that accept payment cards, according to a press release. Moneris will also handle payment processing for the government's online transactions.
Moneris will process payments from Interac Debit, Visa, MasterCard and American Express card. The Toronto-based company will also work to help the Canadian government evolve its payment processing solutions in keeping with new technology.

"Moneris is capable of scaling to meet the needs of the Canadian government, innovate with new technology and deliver strong service and support."
