The board appointed Dennis F. Lynch as the new chairman. Lynch has served on the board since Jan. 2008.

Lummis served as the chairman since June 2001, when CapStreet Group LLC purchased a controlling interest in Cardtronics. The ATM independent sales organization went from having just a few hundred machines to more than 33,000 in three countries under Lummis.

“Without Fred’s leadership and guidance over the past nine years, Cardtronics would not have grown into the successful company that it is today,” Steven Rathgaber, Cardtronics CEO, said in a statement. Both Rathgaber and Lynch once served as president of NYCE Corp.

Cardtronics also announced the board appointed Mark Rossi as a new independent director to serve on the board, effective Dec. 1. Rossi is senior managing director of Cornerstone Equity Investors LLC and serves on the boards of multiple public and privately held companies.
