Cardtronics Takes Allpoint ATM Network to Canada

Some 470 7-Eleven Canada stores now host Cardtronics' Allpoint Network surcharge-free ATMs. This deployment extends the Allpoint network into Canada.

Allpoint ATMs also are in the United States, Australia, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom.

"Consumers have spoken—when it comes to surcharge-free ATMs, the more locations, the better," said Ben Psillas, president, Allpoint Network. "With this expansion into Canada, Allpoint clearly demonstrates its commitment to continually expanding the size and reach of our surcharge-free ATM network, and in so doing help participating Allpoint-member financial institutions meet that consumer demand."

Earlier this year, 7-Eleven named Cardtronics its exclusive ATM service provider in Canada. Scotiabank also agreed to brand the 470 machines, which are NCR SelfServ 22e ATMs.

Cardtronics expanded into Canada in November by agreeing to acquire the Mr. Cash ATM Network Inc.
