Consumers with China UnionPay cards now can use them to withdraw up to 10,000 yuan (US$1,460 or 925 euros) in local currencies from ATMs located outside China, UnionPay says in a statement. The move doubles the previous limit of 5,000 yuan. The increased limit "indicates the improvement the UnionPay brand has made in the international market," Fei Cao, an analyst with Beijing-based research company Analysys International, tells CardLine Global. "The trend of increasing cash- limits for Chinese cardholders will continue in the future." UnionPay cardholders can withdraw cash from more than 368,000 ATMs across the world.
