Credit Union 24, the country's largest credit union-owned ATM and point-of-sale network, yesterday announced that it signed a branding agreement with Cardtronics Inc. that enables Credit Union 24's more than 450 members to expand their ATM networks both within current service areas and into new geographic areas, Jim Park, president and CEO of Tallahassee, Fla.-based Credit Union 24, tells CardLine sister publication ATM&Debit News. Houston-based Cardtronics, the world's largest ATM independent sales organization based on machines owned and managed, will brand ATMs for Credit Union 24 members that want to participate in the program. Credit Union 24 signed a two-year marketing agreement with Cardtronics, Park says. If its members want to sign the branding agreement, it is for five years. Credit Union 24 members sign a separate agreement with Cardtronics. "Credit unions decide on a case-by-case basis and on a location-by-location basis," Park adds. Credit Union 24 manages a surcharge-free ATM network for credit unions of more than 50,000 ATMs.
