Euronet Worldwide Inc.’s epay division has signed an exclusive agreement to process prepaid mobile airtime transactions in the independent retail segment for Sprint Nextel Corp.’s Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile USA and Assurance Wireless no-contract wireless brands, the Leawood, Kan.-based company announced Sept. 29.
Epay has invested in technology to support Sprint’s strategy to grow its prepaid revenues, including an array of integrated tools to help mobile operators analyze retailer performance and better understand subscriber behavior. It also plans to help the mobile operator and its distributor network with enhanced selling, commissioning and reporting systems to maximize retail performance, according to a news release.
“Sprint is committed to the prepaid mobile market, and with epay’s global experience in prepaid airtime distribution, we feel secure that we have aligned ourselves with an industry expert,” Jeff Auman, Sprint vice president of replenishment and base management, said in the release.
