Everlink Payment Services has created a prototype wearable payment device that works with Interac Flash.
The Canadian payment services provider on March 19 introduced DebitWear, which contains a mini-tag with a Multos ML4 Chip intended to be inserted into the wristband. After putting the contactless payment tag in wearable, consumers use the wristband like a tap-and-go payment card at Interac Flash-accepting point of sale terminals.
"DebitWear form factors are ideal for any situation where it may not be convenient to carry your wallet and pull out your debit card," Mark Ripplinger, president and chief executive of Everlink, said in a press release.
Besides the wristband and mini-tag combination, Everlink is also testing contactless-only stickers that can be placed on the back of a mobile device.
