Ex-NetSpend CEO Dan Henry Joins Clearent Board

Nearly a year to the date since he left his role as CEO of NetSpend, Dan Henry may have found the new "aha moment in payments" he said he would seek as the next chapter in his career.

Henry has joined the board of directors of Clayton, Mo.-based payment processor Clearent.

"Throughout my career I've been fortunate to be a part of several successful, innovative companies in the payments industry," Henry said in a July 28 press release. "I'm impressed by Clearent's unique position as an end-to-end payment processor and 100% organic growth, and am excited to help shape the company's future."

In his time at NetSpend, Henry expanded its prepaid card portfolio into an underserved and unbanked customer base, tripling the company's revenue prior to the company's sale to Total System Services (TSYS) for $1.4 billion in June of 2013.

Prior to joining NetSpend, Henry co-founded Euronet Worldwide, a global processor of electronic financial transactions. When he left Euronet in 2006, the company was in excess of $600 million and operated 26 offices in 23 countries, the press release said.

Clearent celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, processing $8 billion in annual transaction volume for 25,000 businesses nationwide.
