First Data Corp. has expanded its agreement with Warsaw, Poland-based Getin Noble Bank SA to include card-issuing and payment-processing services for the bank’s contactless card program, First Data announced Jan. 19.
The transaction processor already provides the issuer with its regular plastic card-issuing and payment-processing services.
In its expanded deal, Getin Noble will tie MasterCard Worldwide’s PayPass contactless chip to its debit cards. First Data will issue and process the magnetic stripe cards on the bank’s behalf, the processor noted in a news release.
Cardholders may use the contactless function for purchases up to 50 zloty (US$18 or 13 euros), according to First Data. Cardholders also may use the card to withdraw money from any Maestro or Cirrus ATM.
