Five credit unions have agreed to use the remote deposit capture services from Eastern Corporate Federal Credit Union and its wholly owned subsidiary Vertifi Software LLC, Eastern Corporate announced Oct. 21.
Eastern Corporate offers DeposZip as a mobile and deskstop application. The mobile version is available for Apple Inc.’s iPhone and smart phones running Google Inc.’s Android mobile operating system. The desktop application works with any scanner.
The technology enables customers to deposit checks into their accounts using images captured with cameras on their smart phones or scanners.
More than 60 credit unions offer DeposZip, and they have processed $620 million worth of deposits through the applications, according to Eastern Corporate.
