Alex W. “Pete” Hart, a former chief executive of MasterCard Worldwide and currently chairman of SVB Financial Group, has been elected to the board of directors of mobile-imaging vendor Mitek Systems Inc., Mitek announced March 1.

Mitek provides the technology behind most banks’ mobile remote check deposit services.
“As we expand the breadth and depth of our mobile-capture products, we felt it was wise to avail ourselves of Pete’s expertise and experience in payments,” James B. DeBello, Mitek president and CEO, said in a press release.
Shareholders elected Hart at Mitek’s annual meeting on Feb. 23.
