FreedomPay Inc. is opening up its payment and transaction gateway to third-party developers, the company announced April 8.
Radnor, Pa.-based FreedomPay is allowing programmers to build off its FreeWay software service, which connects merchants to acquiring banks or processors.
“Developers of point- of-sale and dealer-management systems now have a credit card-security toolkit that addresses a significant portion of the [industry] requirements,” Sam Bellamy, FreedomPay’s chief innovation officer, said in a press release.
FreedomPay said its FreeWay software package is based on “Level 4” transaction data, which goes a step further than most gateway operators and payments processors in the amount of information provided.
