Digital security vendor Gemalto has unveiled technology that enables people to instantly connect to e-services using e-ID smart cards.
The France-based company said Coesys eGovernment Authentication Solution requires no software installation, simplifies the roll-out of value-added secure services, and runs on any browser and operating system with plug-and-play connectivity.It said its SConnect technology provides smart card neutral connectivity, and conventional smart card applications such as strong authentication, secure credential storage and access, and digital signatures, while enabling a range of digital identity applications that are served online.Frederic Trojani, senior vice president of government programs group at Gemalto, said: "A new model of smart online services is appearing in a number of e-government schemes. We are proud to demonstrate our capacity to make these e-services more convenient and accessible to citizens, more secure and more user-oriented than ever."The company has already implemented online authentication for e-health and e-ID programs in Algeria, Azerbaijan, Finland, France, Portugal, Qatar, Slovenia, Sweden, UAE, and the UK.
