GiftClixx, a third-party gift card-distribution company founded in June, announced today its first agreement to distribute cards, with Miami-based Blackstone Calling Cards Inc. GiftClixx will help Blackstone negotiate with retailers the terms and conditions for gift card sales and activations, according to the company. The agreement also will provide Blackstone with transaction routing and will enable Blackstone to offer virtual gift cards for third-party retailers, the company says. Blackstone offers point-of-sale terminals and processing services to retailers for prepaid products, including prepaid calling cards. Blackstone has 15,000 locations, Gary Dinking, GiftClixx CEO, tells CardLine. Dinkin founded GiftClixx in June to compete with card distribution companies Blackhawk Network Inc., which is based in Pleasanton, Calif., and Atlanta-based Interactive Communications International Inc. (CardLine, 6/23). Blackstone did not return calls for comment.
