The Commerce, Calif., wholesale distributor Unified Grocers Inc. has agreed to offer NCR Corp.'s point of sale payments software to its 3,000 grocery clients.
The Dayton, Ohio, automated teller machine and payment system vendor announced the reselling relationship Tuesday for its Advanced Checkout Solution, which can be customized for large retailers or sold to small ones in a packaged format.
"This relationship provides Unified with a consistent and reliable" point of sale system "that can be extended to all of its retail customers," John Saccomanno, NCR's director of food, drug, and petroleum industry marketing, said in a press release.
Unified Grocers said small grocery stores will benefit from being able to use the same software as larger rivals.
