ICBC Hong Kong Issues 10,000 Credit Cards Since March

Beijing-based Industrial and Commercial Bank of China has issued more than 10,000 Visa-branded credit cards in Hong Kong since launching the product in March, a bank spokesperson tells CardLine Global. Cardholders have made at least 50,000 card transactions worth 29 million yuan (US$4.25 million or 3.19 million euros) since March, the spokesperson says. The bank is China's largest by assets. In total, financial institutions have issued at least 9.5 million credit cards in Hong Kong, according to estimates from financial authorities.
