Ingenico, Hypercom Announce Large Terminal Deals

Ingenico SA is supplying point-of-sale hardware and transaction-processing and terminal-management services to McDonald’s Australia Ltd., the France-based terminal maker announced Nov. 2.

Terms were not disclosed.

Some 800 McDonald’s restaurants are in Australia, according to the McDonald’s Australia website.

Ingenico says it plans next to install the same system, which includes the i3070 contactless PIN pad, at 153 McDonald’s restaurants in New Zealand.

Separately, Credit Agricole SA, a France-based banking company, is buying approximately 25,000 Hypercom Corp. POS terminals for installation at various merchant locations, the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based terminal maker announced Nov. 9.

The installations are under way and will continue into 2011, Hypercom says. The company would not disclose the value of the deal or how many merchant locations are involved.
