The Land Bank of the Philippines, also known as Landbank, says it has launched a payroll debit card. Residents, students and workers in the city of Taguig, a suburb of Manila, can use the card account to deposit their payroll funds, then use the card to withdraw the funds at ATMs or to make purchases. The "Citycard" also will carry a photo of the cardholder, making it useful for identification, the bank says. Landbank says it plans to issue at least 300,000 cards over the next four years. Cardholders can use the card at ATMs operated by Landbank or that are part of such networks at MegaLink and Bancnet.
