Latin America's YellowPepper Adds Former ViVOTech President as Chair

YellowPepper, a Latin American mobile payments firm, named the former president and founder of defunct near-field communication (NFC) firm ViVOTech as its board chair.

Mohammed Khan, who founded and led the early NFC company from its inception in 2001 to the sale of its operations in 2013, will help guide YellowPepper in his new role.

"As YellowPepper grows and develops new technologies, Mohammads unique experience in electronic payments and commerce brings YellowPepper additional industry know-how that we constantly strive for," said Serge Elkiner, YellowPepper's co-founder and chief executive, in an Aug. 3 press release.

Prior to founding ViVOTech, Khan spent 18 years at point of sale terminal maker Verifone, where he co-founded the company's Internet commerce business.
