Mackenzie Hall Recognized as Top Agency

Scotland-based collection agency and debt buyer Mackenzie Hall Ltd. has been awarded the Consumer Debt Collection Agency of The Year award at the 6th Credit Today, Debt Collection Awards.

The awards recognize the achievements of companies working in the collections industry. The category was judged by a panel of experts using criteria including evidence of strong client and customer satisfaction, a responsible approach to collections, strong financial results, employee development, innovation and technology. Mackenzie Hall's entry included several endorsements from a list of clients.

Norfolk, Va.-based debt buyer Portfolio Recovery Associates (PRA) acquired Mackenzie Hall, based in Kilmarnock, Scotland, in January. PRA purchased 100% of the equity interest in the firm for a maximum price of approximately $51 million in cash. Mackenzie Hall offers outsourced and contingent consumer debt recovery on behalf of banks, credit providers and debt buyers, as well as distressed and dormant niche portfolio purchasing. It employs approximately 200 people at its headquarters and contact center.
