MasterCard Hires Blackrock Exec to Lead U.S. Issuers Business

MasterCard has hired a Blackrock executive to lead its U.S. Issuers business.

Raj Seshadri will join the company April 11 as president of U.S. issuers, MasterCard said in a Tuesday news release. She will also become a member of the management committee.

In her newly created role, Seshadri will be oversee the management and expansion of MasterCard’s bank and credit union partnerships in the U.S.

Previously, Seshadri lead Blackrock’s iShares U.S. retail ETF business as managing director. Before that she held roles at Citigroup in global strategy and small business banking, U.S. Trust in marketing, strategy and mergers and acquisitions and at McKinsey.

“Raj brings a unique balance of analytical thinking and business-building creativity,” Craig Vosburg, president of North American Markets, said in the release. “Her proven strategic, leadership and customer-oriented capabilities across multiple industries will help MasterCard continue to be a strong partner to our issuers.”
