In August, Starbucks Australia and Shaw Theatres Singapore will be among the first to support in-app purchasing with MasterPass, which competes with Visa's Checkout. The Purchase, N.Y., card network is also expanding MasterPass acceptance to Poland and South Africa, giving the digital wallet a presence in ten countries, the company says in a July 17 press release.

"We're extremely excited about new capabilities and delivering on the MasterPass vision of a fully integrated digital payments ecosystem," says Vib Prasad group head of MasterPass at MasterCard.

MasterPass is also available in Australia, Canada, China, Italy, New Zealand, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States.
