NCR Corp.’s German subsidiary today announced it has signed agreements with 20 banks to monitor their self-service systems, increasing the time the machines are available for customer use.

The individual business contracts with the savings banks located in southern Germany include more than 2,000 ATMs, behind-the-teller-window cash-recycling machines, cash recycling ATMs and statement printers, a product specific to Germany, says Constanze Ehrt, a spokesperson for NCR GmbH.

The monitoring service, NCR Incident Management, enables NCR to identify errors and their causes, triggering a more-rapid response to address the issue or issues, Ehrt says. “NCR Incident Management allows the banks to increase the availability of their self-service networks,” Thomas Firatan, NCR GmbH sales director, said in a statement. “This means self-service systems operate an additional hour or two per system each week.”
