First United Bank of Durant, Okla., says it plans to offer a Visa-branded payroll card to commercial customers that employ unbanked and immigrant workers, Carroll Monden, First United vice president, said in a statement. Employers directly deposit funds into the card accounts using the automated clearinghouse system. Cardholders also can make purchases anywhere Visa is accepted and withdraw cash from ATMs. First United is offering the card as part of an agreement it negotiated with Interactive Transaction Services, a card-processing subsidiary of Central National Bank of Enid, Okla. According to the agreement, Central National Bank will issue the card, and Interactive Transaction Services will process the transactions and manage the card program. The banks did not disclose terms of the agreement.
