OnPoint Community Credit Union of Portland, Ore., has agreed to outsource its automated teller machine operations to Diebold Inc.

The long-term agreement, which the North Canton, Ohio, ATM company announced last week, covers installation, service and maintenance, and armored car deliveries.

Diebold also will provide network monitoring, help desk, transaction processing, and other services aimed at making OnPoint's ATM operations more efficient.

Diebold has said it wants to expand its ATM outsourcing operations.

OnPoint has 45 ATMs and expects to install as many as 30 of Diebold's Opteva machines by 2011, including machines that can accept bulk check deposits without envelopes.

"We can provide OnPoint with the 'nuts and bolts' of day-to-day operations, freeing them to focus internal resources on self-service strategy," Charles E. Ducey Jr., Diebold's senior vice president of global development and services, said in a press release.

OnPoint is the largest credit union in Oregon, with 186,000 members.
