PayEase Now Supports Apple Pay in China

Beijing-based payment processor PayEase Corp. now supports payments through Apple Pay in China.

With the launch of Apple Pay in China in February, PayEase is expected to provide higher flexibility on mobile payments when customers shop on the Apple Store APP.

The cross-border, cross-banking payment platform has since 2010 provided online payment solutions for Apple Online Store, the Cupertino, Calif.-based company’s official e-commerce store in China. Its services also covered payments for software downloads on iTunes Store since 2011.

The initial response to Apple Pay’s February launch in China “was absolutely fantastic,” said Greg Joswiak, vice president of iOS and iPhone marketing, who noted during the company’s annual presentation that there were more than 3 million payment cards added in Apple Pay within the first 72 hours after it became available in China.
