The Canadian prepaid card provider Plastic Now Inc. is using an online card customization service from the Dutch card maker Gemalto NV.

Gemalto, of Amsterdam, said last week that Plastic Now is using its CardLikeMe service, which consumers use to order customized cards featuring a photograph they provide.
Plastic Now markets prepaid MasterCard Inc. cards that are issued by Peoples Trust Co. of St. Albans, Vt. It said its customers, especially teenagers, would value the ability to buy custom cards.
Cal Lloyd, Plastic Now's chief executive, said in a Gemalto press release that the CardLikeMe service gives customers "the opportunity to be creative" and "takes personalized card products to a whole new level."
