RentMoola, Landlord Web Debut Paperless Rent Payments in Canada

Mobile and online payment network RentMoola has partnered with Landlord Web Solutions to offer Web and mobile payments to property managers in Canada.

RentMoola accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express payments for rent, condo fees, parking and other property payments. It enables prospective and existing residents to make auto-recurring and one-time payments from more than 100 countries, to allow residents to pay rent from remote locations. RentMoola also offers rewards programs.

“Residents are now able to make one of their largest monthly payments count for something and enjoy the convenience of making a payment right from their phone," said Jason Leonard, president of LWS in a release.

Rent is one of the lingering payments that is still primarily check-based, though a growing number of companies are offering electronic options. RentPaidOnline (RPO), an online payment service for property managers, recently partnered with mobile commerce company Spindle to develop a mobile version of RPO’s portal.

Other providers include Real Page, which sells a phone-based payment service, and Plastiq, which sells technology that allows consumers to use credit cards for rent, tuition and taxes.
