Samsung Pay has partnered with Quotient Technology to bring users an in-app coupon service and a function that lets them restore information when they sign in from a new device.
Quotient, a digital promotions platform, lets Samsung Pay users browse its network of retailers within the app. When they upload a rewards membership number or loyalty card from one of the partners, they can view its offers and select and save coupons to redeem later. The savings are applied when they check out with Samsung Pay.
Samsung Pay also announced a cloud storage feature that allows users to restore rewards membership numbers, gift cards, and Samsung Reward cards when they sign in from a different device.
Samsung Pay launched in the U.S. a year ago and has since grown its bank network to 500, covering more than 80% of U.S. debit and credit cards.
“Our impressive growth shows that we are closer than ever to a world without wallets,” Nana Murugesan, general manager of service and new business at Samsung Electronics America, said in a Sept. 28 news release. “We are excited to roll out more services and features that will allow the user experience and build enthusiasm for a safer, smarter and better digital wallet.”
