Members of First Data Corp.'s Starsf surcharge-free ATM network now
have surcharge-free access to 7-Eleven Inc.'s ATMs.
The Dallas-based convenience-store chain houses 5,600 ATMs and Vcoms, or multifunctional ATMs, in its stores nationwide.
Cardtronics Inc., the Houston-based ISO, owns the ATMs. Cardtronics is the world's
largest ISO based on the number of machines owned or managed.
The Starsf agreement with 7-Eleven is the second deal in a year that the Greenwood
Village, Colo.-based Starsf has signed with Cardtronics. In 2007, Starsf joined forces with Bethesda, Md.-based Allpoint Network, which operates 35,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide.
That deal includes all the 7-Eleven machines. Cardtronics also owns Allpoint,
the nation's largest surcharge-free ATM network. Starsf financial operated its own
surcharge-free ATM network before linking up with Allpoint, Ben Psillas, Allpoint president, tells ATM&Debit News.
Starsf now has nearly 10,000 of its own surcharge-free ATMs, and its financial
members' customers now have access to nearly 40,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide, the company says.
