Strong Second Quarter Prompts NCR To Boost Full-Year Revenue Guidance

NCR Corp. is reporting net income of $35 million for the second quarter ended June 30, up 75% from $20 million for the same period last year. Revenue was up 12%, to $1.31 billion from $1.17 billion, the Duluth, Ga.-based ATM and kiosk maker announced July 21.

“Our second-quarter performance was driven by the NCR team’s ongoing ability to execute on our strategy and our growth initiatives and provides us the confidence to increase our full-year guidance,” Bill Nuti, chairman and CEO of NCR, said in a press release announcing the quarter’s earnings.

The company’s financial services segment, which includes ATMs, generated second-quarter revenue of $729 million, up 15.3% from $632 million.

NCR expects full-year 2011 revenues to increase from 6% to 8%, up from the previous guidance of 5% to 7%, according to the release.
