United Kingdom-based Tesco Personal Finance this week launched a MasterCard-branded prepaid travel card that users can load with foreign currency before leaving home, the company says. The chip-and-PIN card also comes with a second card to use in case the first card is stolen or lost. Tesco says it commissioned a recent survey of 2,000 travelers from the UK that found that 9% of respondents had reported stolen wallets or purses while on holiday. To withdraw funds at foreign ATMs, cardholders will pay a fee of 3 euros (US$4.60) but no fees for loading value onto the cards.
