Total System Services (TSYS), in partnership with commercial software provider Acquirer Systems, has launched a new EMV certification service.
The service, called Astrex, is meant to make EMV testing for certification quicker and cheaper as U.S. companies look to meet the October 1 liability shift deadline for EMV. After that date, which was set by the major U.S. card networks, any company unable to handle an EMV-chip card transaction will face a shift in fraud liability.
"We have worked with TSYS to help eliminate the complexities of migrating to EMV," said Fergal Molloy, chief executive of Dublin-based Acquirer Systems, in a July 30 press release. "Astrex will simulate all connected debit and credit card brand networks and provide real-time responses at any time of day, allowing VARs and ISVs to complete their testing and validation at a time that best suits their needs."
TSYS is based in Columbus, Ga.
