Tyro Payments to Offer Integrated TouchBistro System in Australia

Tyro Payments, of Australia, will integrate its point of sale technology with the in-restaurant ordering and payment system made by Canada's TouchBistro.

The integrated system will function as a dual terminal for orders, which a waiter or waitress can enter on an iPad rather than through a stationary point of sale terminal. The device also accepts cards directly at the table.

The companies' offering is EMV compliant, a requirement placed by MasterCard and Visa on payment systems in the country since 2013, the vendors said in a June 18 press release.

"One of the most important qualities sought by patrons from hospitality establishments is fast and efficient service," said Nathan Cause, Tyro's hospitality business development manager, in the release. "We developed the Tyro solution to seamlessly and simply integrate with leading hospitality point-of-sale systems, enabling the fast payment processing time patrons demand."
