UK ATM Firm Deploys £5-Only Cash Machine

Bank Machine Ltd., a United Kingdom-based ATM independent sales organization, says it deployed an ATM that dispenses only £5 notes (US$9.55 or 6.40 euros), the smallest notes in the UK. The company deployed the machine in East London. Bank Machine says it plans to deploy similar machines this year as UK consumers, hammered by the country's souring economy and the credit crunch, make more purchases with smaller denominations of cash. Bank Machine hopes to deploy at least 20 more of the machines.
