VisitBritain, the United Kingdom's tourist board, has a signed a deal that enables travelers to order MasterCard-branded prepaid cards before visiting the UK, according to a statement Monday from CorporatePay Ltd., the British firm managing the program. Consumers can order the card from the tourist board's Web site. Travelers can use the cards, loaded with UK currency, at merchants that accept chip-and-PIN payments. Travelers also can add value to the cards over the Web. Travelers from Germany can order the card starting on 5 May, CorporatePay says. The tourist board will offer the cards to travelers from at least 10 other countries over the next 10 months.
