M2 Global Ltd. has signed a deal with Altair Technologies Ltd. to process transactions initiated with Altair's prepaid cards, spokespeople from both companies tell CardLine Global. United Kingdom-based Altair has about 40 prepaid card programs and 30 more "expected to go live in the next three months," the Altair spokesperson says. United States-based M2 will process all existing and future Altair cards, the spokesperson says. The firm's previous processor, Symmetrex Inc., was a wholly owned subsidiary of Altair. Altair bought Symmetrex from M2 in 2006, the spokesperson says. "M2, therefore, has a very good understanding of the business and its transaction processing requirements," the spokesperson says. Altair and M2 both have the necessary approvals to work with MasterCard- and Visa-branded cards, the spokesperson adds.
