UpClick Deal With GlobalCollect Adds International Payment Options

Online-software provider UpClick last week announced an agreement with payment-service provider GlobalCollect BV. The collaboration will enable UpClick to add payment methods to its platform as it expands internationally.

Montreal-based UpClick merchants provide digital goods such as anti-spyware and spam filters to consumers. Through its partnership with Amsterdam-based GlobalCollect, customers of UpClick merchants will be able to make immediate and offline bank funds transfers, cash payments and local direct debit card payments, UpClick says in a news release.

Because GlobalCollect provides processing services for e-commerce providers supporting international customer-not-present transactions, it will provide UpClick the support to offer other payment types. International consumers purchasing goods from an UpClick merchant, for example, will have the option to make purchases in their own language and currency, Laurent Elkaim, UpClick vice president of marketing, tells PaymentsSource.

Specifically, through GlobalCollect’s single-interface online payment platform, UpClick merchants can tell where the transaction is based and convert pricing into local currency and language–before the consumer even adds any personal information, Elkaim explains. To ensure transactions are legitimate, GlobalCollect also provides fraud-screening services.

UpClick has expanded payment options to Brazil and Germany and the Asia-Pacific and Latin American markets.
