U.S. Bank's Business Payments Buildup Adds Invoice Link

U.S. Bank, which has been aggressively building business payments technology, is adding Viewpost’s electronic invoice and payment network to the bank's website.

The network will be available for free to Minneapolis-based U.S. Bank’s approximately 1.3 million small business customers.

“We believe this partnership will benefit the day-to-day operations of small business owners,” Max Eliscu, founder and chief executive officer of Viewpost, which is headquartered in Maitland, Florida, said in a press release.

 U.S. Bank is making a number of improvements to its business payments operation. It's added mobile technology to aid employee travel and procurement payments. And in 2013, U.S. Bank launched TravelVirtualPay, which provides a one-time-use virtual account number for each purchase.

The bank has also made moves on the business-to-business side, including deployment of a payment application that allows clients to integrate enterprise resource planning software from SAP with the bank's payment origination service.
