United States-based Dynamic Card Solutions LLC Tuesday introduced a product that enables consumers with EMV-enabled chip-and-PIN cards to change their PINs at banks, post offices, stores and other locations. EMV refers to an antifraud application found on a growing number of smart cards in most regions of the globe except the United States. Many countries, including Mexico, Canada and Brazil, now are moving to EMV-enabled chip cards to make it more difficult for fraudsters to clone the cards, following the lead of countries in Europe and Asia. "The PIN-change appliance then updates the chip with the new PIN in real time via standard EMV scripting without having to go through a payment network or a third-party system," the company says in a statement. A company spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment. Dynamic Card Solutions sells technology that enables instant card issuance.
