France-based card maker Gemalto has agreed to buy InCard Display cards that display one-time passwords for data-access and financial-transaction authentication from Los Angeles-based Innovative Card Technologies Inc., an Innovative official tells CardLine sister publication CardLine Global. "We expect hundreds of thousands and likely millions of InCard DisplayCards to be purchased by Gemalto," says Steven R. Delcarson, Innovative CEO and president. Gemalto made a "purchase commitment based on client orders," Innovative said in a statement. Delcarson says Innovative has received "tens of thousands" of card orders. Earlier this year, the Industrial Bank of Korea said it would distribute 12,000 of the cards to employees for online authentication.
