Virtual Piggy has added its online payment system for young shoppers to the osCommerce platform, an open-source e-commerce system.
Virtual Piggy allows parents to approve or deny a child's online purchases by setting certain conditions ahead of the transaction. It also allows parents to use an online dashboard to individually approve or deny purchases.
"The thousands of merchants who currently use osCommerce can now open their doors to the millennials and generation Z shoppers in a safe, parent-approved manner," said Jo Webber, CEO of Virtual Piggy, in a press release Aug. 2.
"The osCommerce initiative follows Virtual Piggy’s earlier integration into eBay’s popular Magento platform and continues our strategy to make Virtual Piggy widely accessible to all merchants on a global basis," Webber said.
