Visa Inc. has worked with four Cambodian banks to launch a domestic ATM network called "Easy Cash" in Cambodia, an official with the card organization tells CardLine Global. The banks taking part in the scheme are Cambodia Mekong Bank, Canadia Bank, Singapore Banking Corp. and Union Commercial Bank. "The Easy Cash ATM network will make life easier for bank customers since it will bring more convenience to them through a larger number of ATMs across the country," Truong Minh Ha, Visa's country manager for Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, tells CardLine Global. According to Ha, the banks have connected their ATMs through Visa's VisaNet transaction-data network. "The advantages of working on the shared ATM network with the participating banks include a bigger ATM network and optimal use of the ATMs with more transactions per machine per day," he adds. The network includes almost 90 ATMs and should expand to at least 125 by the end of the year, he says.
