Visa Inc. has won the debit card business of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC in the United States and the United Kingdom, a Visa spokesperson confirms to CardLine. The MasterCard brand will continue to be on RBS debit cards until the middle of 2009, the bank says in a statement. The move continues to give Visa a healthy debit outlook in the United States and overseas. Last week, Byron Pollitt, Visa chief financial officer, told a group of investors that Visa's debit portfolio has helped the company grow despite a challenging economic environment. "We truly have a diversified portfolio," Pollitt said.
