Business members of Best Price, which Walmart operates as in India, will have the ability to make payments via M-Pesas mobile wallet service.

When a Best Price store member places an order with Walmart India, a Vodafone M-Pesa representative will reach out to see if the member wants cash-in to the members M-Pesa account, the report said. The member can then use that cash-in to purchase goods from Walmarts Best Price Cash & Carry Store. Once Walmart India gets a confirmation message, it will dispatch the goods to the member.
The partnership allows small businesses to send funds securely and instantly through their mobile devices. Vodafone is confident this association would go a long way in simplifying the payments process for Walmart India from the members, especially resellers based in secondary markets, Suresh Sethi, head of M-Pesas Indian business at Vodafone, said in the Times article.
The service will be available in Amravati, Aurangabad, Guntur, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Rajahmundry and Vijayawada. Walmart hopes the service will enable faster payments and in turn, faster delivery of goods, according to the Times.
Vodafone M-Pesa has a pan-Indian distribution of more than three million customers that work with more than 90,000 agents.
