Its revenue rose 4% to $1.3 billion from a year earlier, the Englewood, Colo., money transfer company reported Tuesday.

“Strong revenue growth in Asia Pacific and solid increases in the Americas and much of Europe helped deliver another good quarter,” Hikmet Ersek, Western Union’s president and chief executive, said in a press release.

Revenue for the Asia Pacific region rose 14%, Western Union said. Its revenue for the Americas rose 6%.

“We further developed our mobile money transfer capabilities across the world with new agreements in the Middle East and Africa and enablement of more agent locations for cash-to-mobile service,” Ersek said in the release. “In prepaid, we have exceeded one million cards in force in the U.S. and will be introducing prepaid products in some international markets this year.”
