Yapital Financial, of Luxembourg, is partnering with Goodgame Studios to handle sales of virtual goods.
Through this deal, Goodgame customers will be able to scan a QR code with the Yapital smartphone app or use the company's Web checkout to pay. This cross-channel payment processing method will go live before the end of this year, Yapital says in an Oct. 23 press release.
Goodgame Studios, based in Germany, develops mobile and browser games. It currently offers over 10 games that are available in 26 languages and attracts more than 156,000 new user registrations every day, the release said.
"Online gamers are extremely receptive to innovative mobile payment methods," Nils Winkler, chief executive of Yapital, said in the release. "It makes sense because virtual goods can be paid for quickly, easily and securely, without having to tediously type in payment details."
